Lucas Davies is an emerging indie artist hailing from Vancouver, Canada. As a singer-songwriter and producer, he's embarked on a journey to infuse his genuine emotions and experiences into his music. Drawing inspiration from indie-folk and alternative luminaries like Bon Iver and Phoebe Bridgers, Davies also incorporates modern pop influences from artists such as FINNEAS and Harry Styles. The result is a sound that is both raw and familiar.
Davies' passion for music was sparked at an early age, influenced by his father's love for the art and the musical instruments that were always at his fingertips. Following his high school years, he co-founded The Oakstones, a rock band that provided him with the opportunity to refine his live performance skills and explore the realms of recording and production. These formative experiences significantly influenced his artistic direction and growth.
Committed to advancing his craft, Davies pursued formal education in music production at a local college. Equipped with newfound knowledge, he set out to discover his own unique sonic palette, delving into the intricacies of sound and composition.
The post-college transition marked a pivotal moment as Davies ventured into a solo career, resulting in the creation of his debut album, Hold On, Summer.This deeply personal project, released in the summer of 2020, marked an important milestone in his artistic journey.
Among his early accomplishments, the standout is his single "you" (2022). This track resonated deeply with audiences, introducing Davies into the indie-folk sphere. Its heartfelt lyrics and emotive melodies caught the attention of the respected indie-folk YouTube channel, alexrainbirdMusic, bringing Davies' artistry to a broader spectrum of listeners.
Continuing to nurture his musical journey, Davies is on the cusp of significant growth. An eagerly anticipated EP is set to be released in the fall of 2023, in collaboration with established producer Tyler Neil Johnson (John Vincent III, Joshua Hyslop). This upcoming release promises to encapsulate Davies' evolution as an artist and mark an important stride in his musical voyage. Davies embraces his position as a newcomer, allowing his passion and creativity to shape his identity as he aspires to create music that resonates with fellow seekers of emotion and meaning.
